His career is marked by high productivity, the rapper having released a dozen mixtapes between 2012 and 2018.
He began his career in 2012 with his first mixtape From Da Block 2 Da Booth.
His first mixtapes were released in 2012, including From Da Block 2 Da Booth and October 20th. In 2016, he released three more, one of which won a Memphis Hip Hop Award for mixtape of the year. This is Federal Reloaded, a replay of the first episode of the Federal series, which houses guest collaborations such as Y Grizzle, Young Dolph or OG Boo Dirty, among others.
The sequel, ELO (Everybody Lives On), welcomes Yo Gotti and Migos' Quavo in particular. His work with Yo Gotti continues as part of a joint effort titled 2 Federal, released in October 2016.
Heartless then arrives in February 2017 and does well in the US charts. The mixtape notably features appearances by YFN Lucci and Lil Durk.
In October 2017, Moneybagg Yo released Federal 3X, its debut with Interscope after signing a distribution agreement. This is his first project to reach the top 10 in the US album sales chart, placing 5th with 30,000 copies sold in its first week of operation.
In 2018, Moneybagg Yo released a compilation called Moneybagg Yo Presents: NLess Ent x Bread Gang. On February 14, 2018, Moneybagg Yo released the sequel to Heartless, 2 Heartless, with invites sent out to Quavo, Yo Gotti, Lil Baby and BlocBoy JB.
On July 27, 2018, Moneybagg Yo released a 9-track mixtape titled Bet on Me, with contributions from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Lil Baby and Gunna.
It was not until November 2018 to see Moneybagg Yo release his first studio album, called Reset. The second, 43va Heartless, arrives in May 2019, followed by Time Served in January 2020. The year 2021 marks the release of the rapper's fourth studio album, entitled A Gangsta's Pain, the first to reach number one in the charts. Billboard 200. on which appear collaborations by Kaash Paige, Big30, Tripstar, Polo G, Lil Durk, Jhené Aiko, Pharrell Williams or even Future, which is illustrated on the track "Hard for the Next" (n ° 49).
